who we are
From the very beginning we decided on a policy of diving in small groups so as to be able to provide individual attention to our divers – no “cattle diving” for us, we want to enjoy our diving too.We also realised that you, our customers, dislike hidden costs as much as we do, so we have always made sure that our price lists do not contain any “hidden surprises”.So for example, unlike most other dive centres, our PADI course prices include the cost of PADI materials. What started as a small operation soon grew into a fully equipped dive center able to cater for recreational and technical divers. Because of our insistence on the highest standards, all our instructing staff are qualified to PADI Staff Instructor or CMAS equivalent.Today, we remain one of the few dive centers that can guarantee a professional.

I am Agnes Antal, PADI instructor from Hungary. My first CMAS course was a prize which I won in 2001 for swimming across the Danube. I started to dive in Croatia, in Montenegro and in Egypt. I decided to change my life and work as a professional in 2014. I was trained for an instructor in Cyprus and Jordan, and then I started working in the Maldives. My most important aim is to teach students how to enjoy diving in a calm, safe and relaxed way and to show divers the miracles of the underwater world. I speak Hungarian, English, German and Russian.
Hi, my name is Derek Chircop and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our little bit of Malta on the Web. I have been diving for as long as I can remember and I have been an instructor for over 32 years. I hold senior instructor qualifications with PADI, CMAS, IANTD to name a few. To date I have logged over 25,000 dives so you can be assured I will know how to help you get the best out of your diving holiday or training experience with us at Scubatech. I speak several European languages and take pleasure welcoming our guests from all over Europe and Malta itself. It is a great feeling when people return year after year to dive with me and the Scubatech team, often becoming good friends along the way. I look forward to welcoming you personally when you visit our Dive Centre in St. Pauls Bay Malta.
Billy has been diving for the past 15 years and has developed a passion for wreck diving. He is also our TEC instructor. Any time you ask billy about something he will tell you he used to do that for a living ( and beleive it or not he probably did) Now he is a full time instructor and love to do all sorts of jobs around the dive Centre.
Hi my name is Robin Stanley. I first dived in the mid '80's with Derek and did so for a number of years untill my Mother became ill and eventually in a wheelchair. She wanted to come to Malta, so we arranged it she met Derek, Joe and Ciancio and continued to come over until she unfortunately died at the age of 97, she loved her trips to Malta and the Lads always made her very welcome. After she died I came back to Malta and after a while decided to move to Malta on a permanent basis and help Derek around the shop. I took an engineering course in cylinder testing and became a cylinder testing technician with ASSET ( Association of Scuba engineers and technicians). I enjoy being part of the Scubatech team and like to encourage people to see the other blue part of the Planet and Enjoy it. I am the one that will fill your cylinders with nice clean air and blend your Nitrox too.
I'm a PADI MSDT Instructor from England. I can teach everything from DSD to Master Scuba Diver, Divemaster and Drysuit, DPV, Nitrox, Wreck & Deep Specialities. I completed my Open Water Course in Mexico and the rest of my training here in Malta. I love wreck diving and finding macro life - my favourite creatures are Nudibranchs. Cirkewwa is my favourite dive site in Malta and I was lucky enough to see a dolphin with her calf during a dive there in May 2017. I've dived in the Caribbean, Asia and Europe but you won't see me in cold water any more. In fact, I'll be in my drysuit until the sea temperature is over 20c... My favourite thing to teach is the DPV Speciality - just call me James Bond ;) I'm currently completing my Technical Diving qualifications.
There is nothing better than the years of experience that Derek and his team have, which makes each dive perfect in terms of organisation, professionalism and knowledge of the dive sites in Malta. Highly recommended! Thank You!!
